About

Homeschool Edit is all about enriching the homeschool experience beyond the books. What began with a Small Circle Jujitsu and Self Defense class has grown into a thriving community of hands-on learning opportunities. In this class, students learn practical skills and self-defense techniques (that we hope they never have to use!), along with valuable lessons like how to fall safely. As Professor reminds students, “You have several joints between your hand and shoulder… and you don’t want them going on vacation.”

From there, Homeschool Edit expanded into the arts with a five-project ceramics unit where students created dishwasher- and microwave-safe pieces including snack trays, mugs, cereal bowls, wheel-thrown vases, and cups. Most recently, choir joined the lineup, launching in April and bringing even more creativity and community to the program.  The choir director has been such a wonderful and fun addition, bringing energy, encouragement, and joy to every rehearsal!

Looking ahead to summer, Homeschool Edit is excited to launch Jump Rope Club and participate in Lemonade Day. One of the most exciting upcoming additions is Launch Market, debuting at the end of summer!! Designed specifically for students, Launch Market gives young entrepreneurs the opportunity to showcase and sell their handmade and homemade creations while the community shops and supports the next generation of makers and business owners. More details are coming soon!

The next chapter of Homeschool Edit will begin incorporating “the books” with FIAR and Abeka curriculum group times. And that’s just the beginning — many more classes, clubs, and opportunities are already in the works for the upcoming school year.  Stay tuned!

Homeschool Edit is always looking for passionate people who enjoy sharing their skills and talents with students. If you know of a teacher, instructor, artist, coach, or hobbyist who might be interested in leading a class, club, or workshop, we would love to connect with them. Great ideas often start with great people, and we are excited to continue growing our community offerings!
